Earlier this week, a man was arrested in connection with a drug bust in South Jackson. According to WJTV News Channel 12, the bust went down on the 160 block of Ferguson Drive after an alleged undercover purchase.

The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Division arrested 67-year-old David Morehouse.

He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of firearm by convicted felon and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Very few details about the bust have been released, but authorities reportedly seized two pounds of marijuana, a half a kilo of cocaine, four firearms and more than 120 Xanax pills. The value of the drugs was estimated at $13,000. This is a serious drug case.

Many people don’t realize that Mississippi now has a very serious law called trafficking and aggravated drug trafficking. The sentence for aggravated trafficking goes from 25 years to life in prison.
