Fatal Crash on Highway 49

On Saturday night, one person was killed in a crash on Highway 49 in Harrison County. According to WJTV News Channel 12, the two-car wreck happened at about 11:37 p.m., north of West Wortham. For currently unknown reasons, a Dodge Stratus rear-ended a Ford F-150. The Stratus overturned in the median. The driver of that car, 28-year-old Trisha Wallace, was ejected and died on the scene.

Although very few details have been released, initial reports indicate that she was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. The cause of this crash is likely still under investigation with law enforcement authorities.
