Semi Truck Crash in Rankin County

On Friday morning, a semi crash in Rankin County had traffic backed up. According to WJTV News Channel 12, the wreck happened on Star Road at about 9:40 a.m. Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) were swiftly on the scene of this two-vehicle wreck.

Apparently, a Ford Expedition hit the big rig as it was headed west on Star Road crossing over Highway 49. The Expedition reportedly ran a red light prior to striking the large commercial truck. The driver of the Expedition was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported.
